This past Tuesday in Los Angeles, a determined little delivery bot named Connie put itself in harm's way to ensure an Uber Eats order arrived on time. Film The Police LA caught the bot on tape disregarding the yellow tape – around an active crime scene.
That morning, LAPD had received reports of an active shooting at Hollywood High School and came to investigate. The viral footage shows the AI nonchalantly approaching the Do Not Cross tape, and after being granted passage by a pedestrian, rolling right on through the scene without hesitation. The robot’s remote supervisor had reportedly assumed the bot had been given the go-ahead.

Cops looked on, baffled as the robot continued with its route, uninterrupted. If you listen closely, you can hear one bystander speculate that the robot might be a bomb. Quite creative, but fortunately, mere conjecture.

Luckily, the shooting turned out to be a hoax. However, there’s still no word on whether the customer received their order.
